Happy 70th birthday today to Ace Frehley (born 4/27/51), the free-spirited, somewhat lazy, yet insanely talented guitarist for KISS (formerly) and his own solo endeavors including Frehley’s Comet. As the original lead guitarist and co-founding member of KISS, Frehley developed his persona as The Spaceman and was a guitar hero to many future guitarists including Dimebag Darrell and Tom Morello. Frehley left KISS for the first time in 1982 yet rejoined Gene, Paul and Peter in 1996 for a reunion tour in full makeup. Frehley left again in 2001, yet everyone still wonders if we’ll see Ace back in KISS makeup again.
