Happy 75th Birthday Irma Thomas – Watch Full Set From 2015 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

The “Soul Queen of New Orleans”, Miss Irma Thomas turns 75 years young today, February 18th. Thomas is one of the great living soul legends and is best known for classics of New Orleans soul and R&B such as “It’s Raining”, “Time Is On My Side”, “Wish Someone Would Care”, “Take A Look”, “I Need Your Love So Bad” and so many more. Thomas’ career has spanned over five decades, but it wasn’t until 2007 that she finally won a well-deserved Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album for her album After the Rain. These days Thomas still performs in New Orleans and elsewhere, and even in her elder years Thomas is still capable of flooring her audiences with heavenly soul music. Watch Irma’s live set from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2015 and try not to get emotional. Irma Thomas returns to Jazz Fest once again this year on Friday, April 29th.
