Happy 75th Birthday Richard “Dickey” Betts (Watch “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” Live ’70)

Happy 75th birthday today to Richard “Dickey” Betts –the founding member/guitarist/co-vocalist of the Allman Brothers Band who composed some of the band’s most indelible songs including “Jessica,” “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” “Ramblin’ Man” and “Revival.” Betts was ousted from the band in 2000 and has recently suffered some serious health issues – let’s hope we haven’t heard the last from Brother Dickey.
