Happy 75th Birthday Roger McGuinn of The Byrds (Watch “Eight Miles High ’66)

Happy 75th birthday today to Byrds founder, vocalist and guitarist Roger McGuinn who was born on 7/13/42. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer helped pioneer a sound that directly influenced hundreds if not thousands including Tom Petty. McGuinn developed two innovative and very influential styles of electric guitar playing – the “jingle-jangle” and the psychedelic free jazz tone first heard on “Eight Miles High.”  Let’s watch a timeless take on the pre-mentioned track from 1966.
