Happy 75th Birthday today to singer-songwriter and rock groundbreaker Stephen Stills (born 1/3/45) of Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Manassas. Still’s gravelly vocals and stirring guitar leads helped achieve a notorious late 60’s and 70’s rock sound that has influenced artists like Fleet Foxes today and even at one time gave Neil Young creative competition. Stills’ most well-known song is perhaps Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” a song he wrote for singer Judy Collins, to whom he was dating in the late ’60s.
