Happy 80th birthday to Pete Townshend of The Who (born on 5/19/45). Townshend brought his windmill and proto-punk guitar style to the forefront of rock in the mid-60s and composed one of rock’s most enduring catalogs, including 2019’s Who, one of rock’s strongest late-career albums. The Who will be heading off on their farewell tour later this summer.
