Happy 85th birthday today to the great Clarence Carter (born 1/14/36)- one of the great bluesmen we’re still lucky enough to have still around. Born blind, Carter was able to blend the blues with flavors of a righteous soul that made him accessible to the radio but also speak to an audience that relates earnestly to his hard-living stories and sense of hope.
