First, let’s clear up the matter of this weekend’s song selection by the foursome of Scott Metzger, Joe Russo, Marco Benevento and Diamond Dave Dreiwitz. One particular band member told me he thinks these songs were played, but nobody keeps the setlist. When pressed for more details, he told this reporter, “Hey, just another show, brah. Next.”
So here’s a list of the tunes, in no particular order, that I’ve been told they broke out at both shows (no Levee in SF, no For Your Life in LA): The Song Remains the Same, Ramble On, Immigrant Song, What Is and What Should Never Be, Four Sticks, Bring It On Home, Moby Dick, Over the Hills and Far Away, Heartbreaker, All of My Love, Good Times Bad Times, The Ocean, Communication Breakdown/It’s your thing, When the Levee Breaks, You Shook Me, Wonton Song, Out On The Tiles, Custard Pie, Kashmir, In the Evening, Thank You, and For Your Life. Feel free to write in below with the full setlists, if you got ’em…
Let the slideshow begin…Marco stands up to rock out:
And rock out he does…
There ain’t a better drummer on the planet than Colonel Russo, seen here gently scraping the drums in a moment of calmness before his inevitable storminess:
Up close and personal with a guy that resembles Tom Waits but wants to be Richard Thompson…hey, not a bad duo to emulate in looks and chops:
More rockin’ from Marco, who may or may not be pooping here:
Speaking of poop, Ween bassist Diamond Dave lays down the beat:
A view of Bustle from the rafters:
Metzger and Dreiwitz chordin’ around:
The packed-in crowd goin’ beserk for some west-coast Bustle:
Joe playin’ drums with his hands…and no face! I’m guessing Moby Dick:
Where’s Dave at? The world may never know:
DanjaBoots gets a little kinky backstage:
Off to the Knitting Factory in LA for night two:
Dave and Scott resume rock positions:
Russo’s got his game face on…I’ve seen Monica Seles look the same way:
Hey, whatever works out in Los Angeles, I’m with it, I’m hip to it:
