Earlier today, our friends and partners at Glide Magazine released this year’s Glide 20 featuring their top albums of 2008. Most of my favorites have made honorable mention, but Invisible Baby, Magnificent Fiend
and Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust
would all be near the top of my list as well. Head over to the main site for the full list of Glide’s favorite discs of ’08.
Let’s take a look at what else is goin’ on around the ‘nets…
- Warren Haynes visits WNEW for a performance and interview
- Rolling Stones insider pins Altamont Festival fracas on cops
- Tom Morello: warns fans not to expect a new Rage Album
- Neil Young discusses Archive delays, Crazy Horse and more
- The New York Times reviews Vampire Weekend at Terminal 5
- Umphrey’s McGee unveils the full track listing for Mantis
- Brash young Youtube phenoms The McLovins cover Liz Reed
Finally, CBGBs remains controversial nearly two years after the seminal Bowery club closed its doors. According to Ben Sisario of IHT, club founder Hilly Kristal’s ex-wife, Karen, claims she is the rightful owner of the business. She goes on to accuse her late ex-husband and their daughter, Lisa Kristal Burgman, of robbing her by hiding money from the sale of merchandise.

That’s what I’m sayin’. Have a good weekend, Ned.
Nice coverage this month: Haynes, Young and the Stones on one mention. Plus I liked your top 20 list. Especially the Jackie Greene cd. It’s a great one.
