We don’t often make it out to the plethora of museums and galleries that are at our disposal here in New York City, but I think that a trip over to the Morrison Hotel Gallery is now in order as they will be hosting a six-week exhibition of My Morning Jacket photos called Still Moving, which is set to open on May 22 at the former site of CB’s 313 Gallery.
The 21 images were shot by photographer Sam Erickson during the recording of the band’s last three studio albums along with numerous live shots and a couple from the making of their 2006 CD/DVD Okonokos.
- List Time: 8 NYC Bands You Need To Hear
- The Shins debut a revamped line up and two new songs
- Cover Alert: Oak Ridge Boys tackle White Stripes

- Meg White to wed punk legend Patti Smith’s son Jackson

Finally, as the resident Bob Dylan enthusiast around these parts, I thought it would be appropriate to wish a hardy Mazel Tov to Zimmy for scoring his fifth number one album in his storied career with his 33rd studio album, Together Through Life. Dylan sold nearly 125,000 copies of the album in its first week, beating out the likes of Rick Ross and Miley Cyrus. As we’ve previously mentioned Dylan will be hitting the minor league ballpark circuit this summer with fellow legends Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp.

I actually stopped in to Morrison Hotel with my wife one night. It’s very cool and the people there are really nice. We ended up chatting with them for like an hour.
Very cool. I was at their old place down in SoHo a couple of years back and have passed by the new one a bunch times, but have yet to go inside.
