1990 was a great year for English roots rockers The Quireboys. The band had just released their major label debut A Little Bit of What You Fancy, they had a hit video on MTV w/ 7 0’Clock and they were taking the UK by storm. The US proved to be a harder market but the band knew what they needed to do. They spent most of the year touring around the world as headliners and were even tapped to support Aerosmith on the UK leg of the Pump tour during which they  earned many new fans.

The Quireboys also knew that coming back home to England would be a big deal for them and when they did their “homecoming”, they did it right. The band nabbed the coveted 2nd band slot on 1990’s Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donnington where they share the stage with such hard rock heavyweights as Whitesnake, Poison and Aerosmith. While musically they seemed to be a bit out of their element, the boys held their own delivering a high energy set that captivated the many thousands that were there to witness it. “My friends,” as lead singer Spike declares at the opening of this show, “THIS… IS ROCK AND ROLL” and he aint lying!
