Hidden Track: The Week That Was

This was a busy week as usual for the Hidden Track Crew as we published 34 posts by 11 different contributors including the latest member of our team – Tammy Wetzel. On Monday, I told you about Page McConnell’s sit-in with Mike Gordon at Higher Ground, Ryan Dembinsky profiled Hot Buttered Rum, Jason Woodside shared his photos and thoughts from the Disco Biscuits’ shows in Tennessee and Jeff Greenblatt pointed you in the direction of Vampire Weekend’s new song.

For Tuesday’s Cover Wars, DaveO wrote about a number of Baba O’Riley covers. We also published Tammy Wetzel’s spectacular Mike Gordon Band photos, and Jeff clued everyone in on the Chicago Blackhawks teaming up with Wilco for a sweepstakes. Wednesday was all about Tim J. Nelson’s review of the Virgin FreeFest, the latest installment of Through The Years – which contained a playlist featuring one Neil Young video from nearly every year since 1965, a stellar Last Week’s Sauce that contains three tracks from Thom Yorke’s recent show in L.A. and an entry from the All Jambands Look Alike department.

I had a big day on Thursday as we published my list of 10 Awesomely Horrible Songs From Fake TV Bands and my interview with The Band/Levon Helm/Project Percolator guitarist Jim Weider.  Friday was all about  the Phish fall tour dates, Ryan’s Roster McCabe feature and a review of The Rural Alberta Advantage at the Bowery Ballroom by another new HT contributor – Jonathan “Koz” Kosakow. Please take a minute to read and comment on all of this week’s articles as we love to hear from our readers. Thanks for reading Hidden Track!
