  1. Yeah, so many people who say they don’t like also say they went to the bathroom when it started. So exactly how did they experience the performance? Faililng grade on your concert goer report card. I sat down at JB to listen, but totally loved it.

  2. TTE is phenominal…and the last 3 or 4 minutes of the song last night was the absolute fire.

But I saw someone from ButterRoom tweet that last night’s show was best of the year????

Come on guys…who are you kidding?

    Amateurs.

  3. So tired of the bitching. TTE is a great song. Remindes me of when they started playing DWD back in the day. Everyone bitched.

  4. it was great that they streamed this over the internet…. because I am in the hospital.
sounded great through my pain killed ears!! choose!!!d Electric LADY LAND!!!!

  5. Definitely not the best show of the year, but was pretty incredible. The opened up the fest with some fire for night one… I’m thinkin they might play some Michael Jackson or something tonight… Ciao!!!

  6. Ah yes they do Jam Guyute I offer up 8-8-98 as an example.
As for TTE, at first try I judged. However after repeated listening, seen it live, I really enjoy TTE for all its worth. The end section is amazing. Take it easy folks, just let the band play and enjoy.

  8. THE PROBLEM AT THE SHOWS NOW ARE ALL THE NEWBIES THAT DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT PHISH ….. THEY THINK THEY DO BUT THEY DONT … I HAVE BEEN GOING TO SHOWS SINCE 93 QND HAVE BEEEN TO 89 SHOWS
THE NEWBIES GO FOR THE DRUGS NOT THE MUSIC …… ITS THE OTHER WAY AROUND ….

  9. just reading over these comments…man everyone is mostly just bitching about what they don’t like. Its kind of pathetic and one reason why I love the music and hate the scene.

  10. to all the assholes who hate on newbs yeah you’ver been too 200 shows but your what, 35. Let us enjoy the music now. A new album comes with the new wave. you fuckin old and dont like it then peace dude, go hop on another train

  11. to all the assholes who hate on newbs yeah you’ver been too 200 shows but your what, 35. Let us enjoy the music now. A new album comes with the new wave. you fuckin old and dont like it then peace dude, go hop on another train.

Yeah some of the new songs suck and yes some people only go for the drugs, and???? wasnt the whole movement of music and dance based off dope it hink yes. Just chill its not just for the people who have been around a while,

I fell in love with phish while they were on hiatus. Now i go to shows and have to deal with assholes who are knargled out, fresh out the woods.

  12. dude people are old and young. you’ve been to 86 shows colleen. back the fuck off. Phish is the best of the best but dooshes like you who bitch ruin it for everyone. and ya we go for the drugs???? like you know what the hell everyone wants. god you piss me off along with all the other “experienced” phish heads. Dude i know every song, i know all the stories, i bet you got your hap nappy copy of the almanac too. Fucking relax let other people enjoy and dont hate man dont hate. go listen to bouncing around the room.

  13. Well, I’m certainly not a newbie, just geographically challenged. Living in the southeast, at 28, I’ve only been to 13 shows. But tape trading has Phish as being my favorite band for the last 15 years. Everybody has their favorite shows and songs. “Pebbles and Marbles” is to somebody what “David Bowie” is to another.

Who really cares about newbies, unless they are indeed coming for drugs? In that case, the music and original vibe wasn’t for them anyway. Just ignore it and let em pad Kuroda’s pockets.

  14. grow up people – no need for a pissing match over who is a true fan etc. everyone has their reasons for showing up and the only reason you should be concerned with is your own. my first was in 1990 at keene state college – somebody pulled a fire alarm so it was stopped early…

  15. damn there is always someone bitching about something.. just let it go, take the music as you wish, to each his own..

  16. I hate that word; newb. I’ve also heard ‘custy’, but what the hell does that even mean? I’ve been listening to Phish since Lawn Boy came out, but I’ve seen them live only 4 times, and those shows occurred in ’98 and ’99. I couldn’t afford to go to shows and, not only that, there were other things in my life. Sure, I would’ve loved to travel the country from place to place and see them play every night, but I’d get the same enjoyment out of simply traveling, or actually playing music. To me, the people that bitch about the ‘newbs’ actually made the Phish experience a bad one. Furthermore, they were the ones who did all the hardcore drugs, i.e. heroin, meth, crack, and lived in K-holes. Plus, none of those people were there from the beginning, back when the band started. If you actually care about a band and love their music, you would be spreading the word and getting as many people as possible to come to their shows, trade the tapes, and buy their records. What’s love if you can’t share it? To finish my rant, there are lots of Phish songs that aren’t all that good, and personally I wish they dove deeper in compositional writing as they did with Stash, YEM, Guyute, Antelope, Bowie, Reba. Those songs were the perfect blend of written out orchestration and free-form jam. I definitely could do without gems like Gotta Jibboo, Meatstick, and the never-ending loops that Trey did while on auto-pilot before the break-up. Then again, it takes all kinds, and I don’t like to over-analyze things. Especially when it comes to a band and their music. Let them do their thing, they are in their 40’s and you should be glad they are still making music together.
