The independently produced Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival has announced the initial artist lineup for its inaugural festival that includes headliners Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Skrillex, among a total of 80 bands within the hip-hop, indie rock, electronic, folk, modern and classic rock genres. Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is centrally located at Florida’s Sunshine Grove (12517 NE 91st Avenue, Okeechobee, FL 34972) on over 800 acres of pristine grasslands, clear lakes, and exotic tropical woodlands. The site has been carefully prepared to capture its natural beauty and give the festival an intimate feeling. Signature new venues like Aquachobee provide the perfect place to relax and hangout by the lakeside swimming beach and bar; the Lost Jungle offers an immersive from dusk-til-dawn dance music experience; and an assortment of spectacular multi-media art installations will dot the landscape surrounding the wooded VIP camping areas. Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will also feature a wide array of locally sourced treats from some of Florida’s most popular food trucks, craft beer makers, and artisanal purveyors. Environmental and other socially conscious campaigns will be presented, as well as yoga, meditation, and holistic workshops.
Okeechobee Festival’s multi-genre lineup is designed to appeal to a wide variety of audiences plus Florida’s idyllic March weather makes the event an ideal Spring Break destination. “We want to present a more intimate experience in our first year, so we are limiting the capacity to about half the size of other major American festivals,” says Soundslinger Founder & Chief Creative Officer Paul Peck. “We have an incredibly special property and the opportunity to do something really special here, and we want to make sure we do it right.”
Passes for Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival are currently on sale. Tier 1 GA 3-Day Passes will be available. When the initial allotment of tickets is sold out, the 3-day GA Passes will be released at the Tier 2 price. At the time of the Second Wave Line-up Announcement, the cost of the 3-day GA Pass will increase. Fans are encouraged to purchase early to get the best possible price, and be insured of getting a pass, as the organizers are anticipating a sold out event. Payment plans are available. 3-Day GA Passes include parking, tent camping and access to all three days of the festival. One campsite is provided for each vehicle, and each campsite can hold up to eight people (although four to six people per site is recommended to optimize comfort).
