The ATX TV Fest Announces Its First Round Of Programming For Season 7

Now in its seventh year (or season, as they prefer to call them), the ATX TV Fest has consistently brought some of the industry’s biggest names to Austin, Texas. It will be held this year on June 7-10, and the first round of programming announcement just dropped, and it promises to be a great year.

David Simon and his producing partner Nina K. Noble will be attending to talk about the 20th anniversary of their company, Blown Deadline Productions, which is responsible for creating some of the cornerstones of the Peak TV era. This includes (but not limited to) The Wire, The Corner, Treme, and Show Me A Hero. Joining them will be actor Clarke Peters who starred as Lester Freeman on The Wire, as well as several other Blown Deadline-backed projects.

Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher, the creative team behind Take My Wife, which aired on the now-defunct Seeso network, will be on hand as panelists.

Derek Waters, best known as the host of Comedy Central’s delightful Drunk History, will lead an interactive panel along with some very special guests to share what the show has in store for the rest of its fifth season.

Finally, stars of the new Paramount Network series American Woman Alicia Silverstone, Mena Suvari, Jennifer Bartels will be joined by co-executive producer Kyle Richards for a special screening and Q&A with the audience.

Other shows to be featured include the Audience Network’s new spy thriller Condor!, an early screening of The Bold Type’s second season, OWN’s Queen Sugar and their new series Love Is ___, and a new pilot Everyone Is Doing Great, with creators on hand to discuss their decidedly non-traditional approach to TV production.
