WATCH: Grateful Dead ‘All The Years Live’ Cold Rain & Snow 6/14/91 RFK Stadium

This week’s edition of The Grateful Dead’s recurring YouTube series “All The Years Live” features the traditional “Cold Rain & Snow” from the band’s June 14, 1991 concert at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. This late-era version, which was ultimately released in 2001 as part of the Dead’s View From The Vault series, features some nice interplay between guitarist Jerry Garcia and Bruce Hornsby, who was sporting his trusty accordion for this rendition. One of the oldest songs in the Dead’s catalog, “Cold Rain & Snow” made it’s concert debut in 1966 and went on to be performed over 240 times through 1995.

In other news, the latest installment of the Grateful Dead’s weekly archival stream Shakedown Stream features the group’s June 17, 1991 concert from Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Originally aired in 1991 on the ABC canned concert series In Concert, and later shown in theatres nationwide as part of the Dead’s annual Meetup At The Movies in 2019, this show features an eclectic setlist – including a rare “Eyes of the World” opener as well as a smoking rendition of the recently resurrected “New Speedway Boogie” – as well as piano virtuoso Bruce Hornsby sitting in for the entire concert.

Watch the latest episode of Shakedown Stream this Friday, May 15th at 8PM EST at the Grateful Dead’s official YouTube page.
