Real Estate member Alex Bleeker who used to perform with “and the Freaks” in his title will follow 2015’s Country Agenda with a new solo album, Heaven on the Faultline, out March 5 via Night Bloom Records.
Written and recorded over the last several years, Heaven on the Faultline’s songs were initially recorded straight to GarageBand in Bleeker’s bedroom before receiving further studio refinement in co-producer Phil Hartunian’s Tropico Beauty space in Los Angeles. With contributions from Confusing Mix of Nations’ Josh Da Costa, Cameron Stallones of Sun Araw, singer-songwriter Kacey Johansing, and Parting Lines’ Tim Ramsey, Heaven on the Faultline achieves a warm and intimate feel that defines Bleeker’s mission for the album: “I wanted to capture the moment in which I fell in love with making music to begin with. This is music for myself—me getting back to music for music’s sake.”
Check out “D Plus” which was written on the day of Trump’s inauguration with the cursed event in mind. “The album is very much about dealing with the feeling of impending doom,” says Bleeker who is currently residing in Canada after wildfires threatened his Northern California residence. Yet, it’s possible to experience these anxieties while taking comfort in the simple pleasures of life and that’s exactly what Bleeker offers on his forthcoming new album Heaven on the Faultline.
This catchy new tune boasts high caliber guitar execution, captivating vocal melodies, and colorful tones that bring warmth to a brisk fall day during a time where let’s face it… we could all use a little more good vibes in our life. Bleeker delivers from the first moments of the track as the mood is lifted by well-blended guitars, a straightforward bass line and rock steady drums.
