The Lunar Year is an indie band from Philadelphia. The group, led by Katie Hackett released their debut record Herodias in June of 2017. The album included the single “Porcelain” which gained them a solid following, television placement, and international features.
Check out the vocally enchanting new single “Mysterium” (below) from The Lunar Year that is both haunting and graceful: think Cranberries meets Chelse Wolfe. Hackett is dynamic and captivating as she vocally swings through a synth-laden atmosphere. “Mysterium” is perfectly trippy and ethereal, building from restrained stagnation to an exposed indie-rock landscape.
“I wrote Mysterium while contemplating the otherworldly feeling of falling in love, and the subsequent longing you experience when you can’t be with that person,” says Hackett.
