LISTEN: Freedom Fry Sizzles With Masterful Twee Pop On “I Didn’t Feel Like Dancing”

The married duo Freedom Fry is French Marie Seyrat and American Bruce Driscoll. Together they have self-created their own universe around music – producing, mixing, mastering, vastly growing a catalog of over 250 original songs and covers and accompanying visuals.

Smatter yourself in the colorful pop world of Freedom Fry on their new single, “I Didn’t Feel Like Dancing.” When the beat drops we are surrounded by synthesizer gleam and a swift percussive push that swings with the twee of Belle & Sebastian alongside the alt-rock flair of Phoenix. “I Didn’t Feel Like Dancing” is a robust feel-good indie anthem, that sticks on first listen.

“Most of our songs start on the guitar or with a drum beat but this song started on our living room piano. We were feeling inspired by ‘70s pop. The kind we listen to when we drive around LA on a Sunny day. We made a movie in our heads for the lyrics. A love story where someone who is incapable or even afraid of dancing meets a special someone whose sheer presence turns them into a brilliant dancer.”
