LISTEN: Mexico City Psych Pop Outfit Petite Amie Throws Down Collective Grooves On “Elektro”

Mexico City-based psych-pop group Petite Amie was founded by Carlos Medina, who also serves as the bassist in tropical-pop band Little Jesus. In 2020, Medina was joined by Aline Terrein and Isabel Dosal on vocals, and musicians Santiago Fernández, and Jacobo Velazquez to create their first LP. Petite Amie is set to release their self-titled debut album on October 1st via Park The Van & Devil In The Woods.

Check out the luscious new single “Elektro” from Petite Amie that grooves with the urban flair of Jungle and Tame Impala. The soundscape is brilliantly colored in expressive and swelling synthesizers as Isabel Dosal takes the lead, cutting vocally with ease. The mall filmed video paired with the song is also an ironic hoot…

“We tried to translate a dream where you don’t know exactly where you are going but you let yourself go,” the band explains about the song. “Stars come down to Earth and transport you to another world and although you know you are enjoying it you’ll always miss the place where you come from.”
