LISTEN: St. Paul & The Broken Bones Drop Fiery New Single “3000 AD Mass”

St. Paul & The Broken Bones have shared “3000 AD Mass”, the first song on the band’s just-announced new album The Alien Coast, out January 28 on ATO. Check it out below..

The raw fury kicks off with an organ and lifts off into the unknown in this video full of religious imagery and disintegrating graphics. Lead singer Paul Janeway – who was once a preacher-in-training and learned to sing in church choir – soars over menacing soul music with his trademark vocal roar that has propelled this band to incredible heights since releasing their debut album in 2014.

The Birmingham, AL octet explores thrilling new territory on The Alien Coast, a fever dream convergence of soul and psychedelia, stoner metal and funk, animated by the very “fire and brimstone” which Janeway invokes in the album’s opening line. Unlimited studio-time allowed individual members of the band to experiment with synths and samples on The Alien Coast, and even collaborate with Birmingham beatmaker and hip-hop artist Randall Turner.
