LISTEN: The Lagoons Construct Thematic Sonic Ripness On “Long Road to Nowhere”

Los Angeles-based brothers Ryan and Joey Selan are The Lagoons. Writing and producing out of their home studio, the duo’s unique blend of genres was first heard on their debut single “California” and was followed up by Gems EP & Escape EP. Their versatile ability to switch between instruments as well as perform a completely fresh and different set each night makes their live show a must-see.

On the hazy “Long Road to Nowhere,” The Lagoons blend the spacey mysterious drama of M83 with a surefire thematic sonic ripeness. The brothers vocalize angelically here bringing this three-and-a-half-minute statement some indie grandeur.

“Given all that has happened over the last couple of years, we want to look forward rather than be stuck in the past. Our new album, Daybreak, follows a hero’s journey, meditating on themes of love, resolution, hope, and desire.”
