LISTEN: On “Clown” Pale Moon Arrives With Chamismatic Dream Pop

Driven by influences like Fleetwood Mac, the Doors, and Wings; Pale Moon is a musical duo based in Spain made up of Natala Sushchenko and Arni Gudjonsson. In a world full of vibrant warmth and spaciousness, Pale Moon offers the new single “Clown.” Sushchenko’s voice is captivating and unique, with touches of Beach House, yet forged from her own charismatic disposition. The duos vocal touches dance tastefully together in endearing and organic nature, as they swirl in a summery cloud of indie-pop.

“Clown” is a tapestry of sounds and melodic lines that weave together and crawl in and out like little worms. The opening arpeggio sets a melancholic mood but with a bit of hope. The song has been with us for some time and has been performed in various versions. Originally the song was supposed to sound like the doors, but the only thing left that hints that Doors vibe is the Chord-progression in the pre-chorus, which is taken directly from riders of the storm. The lyrical theme is how we often tend to act silly and how we sometimes joke around in serious situations, and how we use humor as a shield to protect ourselves from revealing ourselves too much,” says the duo.
