Earth, Wind & Fire first gained notoriety in 1972 and has not lost traction as a band with universal appeal. They have crossed all genre of music having produced 23 albums that includes eight number-one R&B singles and eight double platinum top 10 albums with records sales totaling over 90 million.
The soul and funk collective visited Tucson’s Anselmo Valencia Amphitheatre on April 22, 2022, led by three members that have been with the band since the early ’70s: Phillip Bailey (vocals), Verdine White (bass), and Ralph Johnson (percussion). The set showcased all the hits including: “Boogie Wonderland,” “Sing a Song,” “Shining Star,” “September,” “Fantasy,” “Reasons” and “That’s the Way of the World.” Of course, Philip Bailey proved that he has retained his extraordinary falsetto vocals that are undeniably unique and that of EW&F.
