The Welcome To Rockville festival is one of the largest rock festivals in the country and its lineup for the 2022 weekend is stacked with legends. While the whole lineup is jaw-dropping, nothing sticks out more than Sunday’s headliner, the return of Jane’s Addiction’s sister band Porno For Pyros. This headlining set will break their 24-year hiatus from live performances.
Jane’s Addiction was slated to play the slot but due to Dave Navarro’s “long bout with COVID”, Porno For Pyros will return. Porno For Pyros will be playing with three of the four original members, Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, and Peter DiStefano. Mike Watt will step in on bass.
Welcome to Rockville begins on Thursday, May 19, and will go until Sunday, May 22 at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida. The lineup includes massive names like Kiss, Papa Roach, and Nine Inch Nails, just to name a few. Visit here for tickets.
Porno for Pyros made its debut in 1993 following the breakup of Jane’s Addiction with their self-titled debut that featured the hit “Pets” which received radio play and generous MTV rotation. 1996’s Good God’s Urge followed and the band shortly fizzled out soon after as Jane’s Addiction regrouped in 1997 for the Kettle Whistle compilation album. In April 2009, the original lineup of Farrell, Perkins, DiStefano, and LeNoble performed at Farrell’s 50th birthday party, which was more of a private gig. Check out their Woodstock 1994 gig below..
