LISTEN: Lindsay Clark Astounds On Exploratory Acoustic Guitar Track “Evening Star”

“Evening Star ”, (below) is the new meditative and ambient release from singer/songwriter Lindsay Clark. Originally from the small gold rush town of Nevada City, CA, she now resides in Portland, OR, where an already vibrant freak folk/Americana scene fits her own brand of exploratory folk like an old worn-in hoodie. The song is minimalistic but rich, with the melody bouncing freely through the thick atmosphere created by Clark’s unique fingerpicking and electric guitar via William Tyler.  “Evening Star ” is off of the upcoming full-length album Carpe Noctem, engineered and arranged with Jeremy Harris (Vetiver, Adrienne Lenker, Hand Habits), and is out 6/24/22 with Audiosport Records (NL).

“Evening Star” is a song about change and deep, internal transformation, reckoning with long-standing patterns and being held by the natural world in that process. I wrote the song one winter in my hometown, Nevada City, California, after being by the river, hearing the water crash against rock, and watching the light change into night. William Tyler’s electric guitar lent some beautiful spaciousness and darkness to the song, which fit perfectly.”
