SONG/VIDEO PREMIERE: Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers) Keeps It Weird On “Too Many People”

Some artists change for the better, but you can always count on Paul Leary to turn up something more outrageous than the last. The prolific artist is a modern-day Captain Beefheart with his musical paintings that conjure up imagery of psychedelic, proto-punk and all-around mystical mayhem,

Today, Glide is premiering the Buthole Surfers guitarist/sometimes vocalist’s new but old track “Too Many People” the second single taken off the forthcoming reissue of his debut LP, The History of Dogs (originally shared in 1992), due June 17 via Shimmy-Disc/Joyful Noise. The single comes alongside a music video created by Paul himself. Check out out below

Paul Leary’s latest solo LP, Born Stupid, came out last year via Shimmy-Disc/Joyful Noise. Both records — Born Stupid and the newly reissued The History of Dogs — are available to pre-order as a 2xLP bundle.

“It blows my mind how many people live on this planet.  Billions of us.  All being born, all dying.  And all defecating and urinating in between.  I love to stand in places where I can look out over the landscape and see no evidence at all of human beings.  We are a deeply flawed species,” says Leary
