Paul McCartney’s U.S. portion of his Get Back tour hit Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on June 16th for his final U.S. show before Macca hits the Glastonbury Festival next week. This U.S. tour finale went out with a bang just prior to the icon’s 80th birthday on Saturday, June 18th
McCartney is known for putting on massive shows with a long setlist, and Thursday night was no different. McCartney performed a total of 32 songs spanning his songwriting notebook, switching between songs from The Beatles, Wings, and his solo work. Of course, a concert in New Jersey isn’t complete without a visit from the state’s unofficial governor.
Jersey native Bruce Springsteen made an appearance on stage with McCartney towards the end of the show as they took turns covering each other’s songs, performing Springsteen’s “Glory Days” and “I Wanna Be Your Man” by The Beatles.
Springsteen wasn’t the only special guest. Jon Bon Jovi later walked out on stage with balloons to sing McCartney “Happy Birthday”. The only thing missing was Frankie Valli on this Jersey outing.
