WATCH: Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson Join Primus For “Closer To The Heart” At ‘South Park’ Night 2 At Red Rocks

Not too long ago, Glide put together a list of artists we wanted to see return to live one last live performance, and at the very end of that list, we mentioned Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush. We’re not sure if manifestation works but our prayers were answered last night (8/10) at of all places, the second night of South Park’s 25th Anniversary concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado. The two rock legends joined South Park co-creator Matt Stone on drums and Primus as they tore through the Rush classic “Closer To the Heart”.

Co-stars of the anniversary show, Primus and Ween, performed the track on night one of the two-day celebration. Leading up to the appearance of the Rush founders, an animated skit starring the duo was projected across the stage where they discussed being invited to play the show.

Rush made an appearance on the animated series back in 2011 and a select few times since then. This was the first time the Rush duo shared a stage since 2015, making it a monumental moment in the rock world.

Check out footage from their performance below:
