LISTEN: Dan Miraldi Heralds ’70s Echoing Vocal Harmonies On “Peace Of Mind”

Dan Miraldi is Cleveland-born New York City-based rock and roll singer-songwriter. Since his 2009 solo debut, Miraldi has remained prolific releasing four full-length albums along with eight EPs.  2022 finds him prepping the release of his fifth album, Radio Friendly Darling. Singles from the upcoming album have earned the singer regular airplay on SiriusXM radio.  As a touring artist, Miraldi has performed across the United States and in Europe.  His rock and roll adventures have found him on sharing concert bills with an eclectic range of artists such as J. Roddy Walston & the Business, Nelly, Wiz Khalifa, the Wailers, Wild Feathers, the Trews, Wally Bryson of the Raspberries, Beatle offspring James McCartney, Family of the Year, Welshly Arms, Fiery Furnaces, and even Wang Chung.

Miraldi’s recent single, “Peace of Mind”, is the type of tune you throw on, and all of a sudden you can’t help but start to see everything through sepia-colored glasses. It’s a George Harrison hit that never was from a time most people were trying to calm down and make sense of a decade of yelling at each other all the time. In other words, simple but spot-on sentiment for the moment.

“The upcoming album Radio Friendly Darling is generally an up-tempo pop-rock record. ‘Peace of Mind’ is an emotional reset that hits in the middle of the record. Lyrically, the song is about searching for peace when anxiety feels overwhelming. It is a bit stream of consciousness as the mind tries to find calmness in chaos and uncertainty.  Musically, I leaned into my love of Crosby, Stills, and Nash and sang a three-part harmony lead vocal.  I recorded the song in my apartment and then two talented friends of mine recorded remotely and sent me the slide and upright bass parts that finish off the recording,” says Miraldi.
