Billy Strings, Allison Russell, Sierra Ferrell Win Big At American Honors & Awards

The Americana Honors & Awards have been going on for twenty-something years at the annual AmericanaFest in Nashville, but seems only in recent years the event has moved a bit more visible. We can thank Jason Isbell and Avett Brothers and more close to the mainstream artists for helping popularize a genre that is older than rock.

The ceremony at Nashville’s prestigious Ryman Auditorium hosted performances from the likes oo Adia Victoria, Allison Russell, Brandi Carlile, Buddy Miller, Chris Isaak, The Fairfield Four, Indigo Girls, James McMurtry, Lucinda Williams, Lukas Nelson, The McCrary Sisters, Morgan Wade, Neal Francis, Phosphorescent, Sierra Ferrell and The War And Treaty. However it wouldn’t be an event without the awards and Billy Strings came up big as Artist of the Year, while Allison Rusell’s Outside Child, won Album Of The Year. Meanwhile, Sierra Ferrell has to be satisfied with her breakout year as she nabbed Emerging Act of the Year. Check out the full list of winners below…
