WATCH: Alex G Mixes Twang & Indie On ‘Colbert’ Performance Of “Miracles”

Coming off of the critical acclaim of his most ambitious album yet, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alex G took over The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night (September 29). He performed “Miracles” off of his recently released eighth studio album God Save The Animals, a highlight from the 13-song effort. This was the Philadelphia-area debut on Colbert’s show and comes right before he ships off on tour.

Alex G was on stage with a full band for this performance, including multiple guitars and a one-person string section. The stage was drowned in the same sky blue-hue that appears on the album cover, the painted animals from the artwork made an appearance as well as they nodded their heads on the screens. The laid-back performance had every member of the band seated as Alex G crooned through this personal cut from the album, giving the country twang of the song an extra emphasis.

Alex G is heading out on tour to support his latest release starting next week (October 6) in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. Check out the full performance of “Miracles” and get tickets for his upcoming tour below:
