How to Play Bingo based on Hollywood Cliches

One of the great things about Bingo is it is such an adaptable game. And we’re not just talking balls here. Although since Bingo migrated online, even these have exploded, with 30-ball, 50-ball, and 80-ball games joining the traditional 75-ball and 90-ball bingo variants.

We’re also talking about how the basic find-and-match concept can be used in a huge variety of settings. Bingo has been successfully adapted for use in the classroom, most commonly in foreign languages or maths, but creative teachers of other subjects like history have also been known to use it as a teaching aid.

It is also used in physical activities, with Yoga Bingo being highly recommended as a fun way to keep fit for both kids and adults. But don’t worry, bingo variants are not all aimed at improving your mind and body, and here we’re going to introduce a hilarious game to play while watching bad movies and drinking with your buddies – B-Movie Bingo. And we guarantee that this is as much fun as playing online at Foxy Bingo and other fun bingo sites –

What is B-Movie Bingo?

It’s just what it says on the box, an entertaining game based around Hollywood cliches. The idea is simply to match what’s happening on the screen to a square on your bingo card as you watch your chosen film. This could be a plot twist, action, character, or common line of dialogue.

And don’t worry, you won’t be limited in the choice of films you play it with because, to be honest, 90% of new releases from Hollywood are B-movies these days. That’s not great for film buffs, but perfect for this game as the cliches come thick and strong.

How to Play B-Movie Bingo

First, you need to sit down, preferably with friends, and right down all the Hollywood cliches you can think of; these can be stereotypical characters (cop married to the job), actions (flying kick to the head), lines of dialogue (let’s get out of here) etc. You want to come up with as many of these as possible so that you have a wide range to choose from when you’re making the cards.

Create bingo cards for the players, with each square representing a different event, as above. Make sure there’s a good selection and that no two cards contain exactly the same boxes.

Now just sit back and watch the movie. As the events unfold, the players mark off their cards. You can be a purist and go for the traditional bingo lines and shapes for wins. Or you can relax the rules a bit and just say the player with the most squares marked off at the end of the night is the winner. It’s up to you.

Either way, B-Movie Bingo adds a whole new element to movie night. And it’s even a great way to liven up a boring TV night. Just try to fill your bingo cards while channel hopping, and you’ll never complain that there’s nothing worth watching on again!
