Last night (May 29), the Arctic Monkeys started their 2023 World Tour at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, England. This solo tour comes after a long stint of festival gigs this year and supports the Sheffield band’s latest LP, 2022’s The Car. The band put their diverse sound on full display with a setlist that reached deep into their colorful discography while pleasing fans that may have discovered the band in any era. This current tour will have the band traversing the globe and they set things off on the right note with an explosive performance at the 27,000-capacity arena.
The headlines have been buzzing with how Arctic Monkeys started off their show. The band performed the beloved “Mardy Bum” for the first time since 2013 and the first time they played the album version since 2007. The band also pulled out the favorite “My Propeller” for the first time since 2014. The band performed all of their chart-topping successes from the multiple hits off of 2013’s AM (“Do I Wanna Know?”, “R U Mine?”, and “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High”) and the forever-catchy “505”. The band also dug deep for songs like “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair” off of 2011’s Suck It And See with the rest of the setlist spanning their historic discography. You can see the full setlist below.
Before the Arctic Monkeys make their way over to the States, the band will travel all over the U.K. and Europe until late June.
