LISTEN: Kai Warrior Reveals Introspective Goodness On Tender “I Don’t Know”

Check out the beautiful and self-revealing, “I Don’t Know” from Kai Warrior. Kai Warrior has a way of being direct and blunt lyrically, while not giving up on the poetry and the unknown element of creative songwriting. “I Don’t Know” is a seemingly effortless unveiling of an introspective journey, a gorgeous and telling tale of a hero in plain clothes, and a song for each of us who have ever questioned ourselves or what we are really doing here on this planet.

I wrote “I Don’t Know” in a reflective state of confusion and frustration and honesty about my first queer experience that happened towards the end of high school. At the moment, I felt really disappointed that it had gone/was going so poorly and I didn’t really see the value in communicating my feelings, and neither did the other person. Looking back on it, I think I’m able to apply a lot more compassion to both of us. It wasn’t great but it happened and I hope we both know how to love better now. I’m really happy that “I Don’t Know” was my first-ever solo release! I haven’t been writing for too long but it’s one of my oldest songs and I love that I still love it. Working with Boy Golden and Leith Ross was such a treat, I feel lucky and relieved to have it out of my hands and the responses to it have been even sweeter.”
