LISTEN: Kerosene Kream’s “Mindkiller” Brings Infectious Electro-Pop To Punk Rock

PNKSLM Recordings proudly presents Stockholm garage punk quintet Kerosene Kream and their PNKSLM debut EP Buying Time, due out on August 30th on limited edition vinyl and digitally. The EP is announced, together with the release of the lead single “Mindkiller,” a synth-heavy showcase of their blend of digital psychedelia and garage rock, which will arrive ahead of a show with the legendary The Gories this weekend. Having shared the stage with Dungen, Illuminati Hotties, Holograms, and Powerplant, Kerosene Kream is the latest group to step out from the Stockholm underground that gave birth to Viagra Boys and Holograms. The band has grown a reputation as a ferocious live act with shows around northern Europe.

Kerosene Kream is reimagining punk rock tropes into refreshing pop-leaning antics on “Mindkiller.” The single from the band’s anticipated new EP is whimsical, with its raw harmonies and lo-fi tones, but isn’t simply a pop-punk record. Kerosene Kream blends subtle electronics into the arrangement to give it a full feeling while introducing new tones and textures to the blazing tempos of drums. The raw mix evokes a warmth not closely associated with the genre, but the band has seemingly mastered a hive-mind mentality for these elements to mix so beautifully. Kerosene Kream is gearing up for the release of Buying Time, and “Mindkiller” is a danceable punk single with bright tones that should have everyone excited for the upcoming EP.

Following the new EP, the band is set to head out on dates, including an appearance at the Left of the Dial Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and making their UK live debut in September alongside Scandinavian shows.
