LISTEN: Pablo Naranjo’s “El Ultimo Hombre” Is A Whimsical World Of Stunning Vocals & Cascading Guitars

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Pablo Naranjo just released “El Ultimo Hombre” (Trans. The Last Man), the first single of his upcoming album Aurora’s Dream. Pablo Naranjo’s career spans over twenty years as the leading composer/songwriter of Septimo Aposento and guitar duo Orbeum. As a solo artist, Pablo has recorded three self-produced albums, and his music has been featured in TV series, documentaries, and films. Pablo is an accomplished producer who records, mixes, and masters his own music and does this for other artists as well. He has collaborated with musicians from all around the world, including members of the Melbourne, Vienna, and Bogota Symphony Orchestras. ‘El Ultimo Hombre’ is the first single of the nine-track, haunting, and ambitious new album Aurora’s Dream, to be released in November 2024.

There is something so ethereal yet earthly about Naranjo’s “El Ultimo Hombre.” Blame it on the cascading acoustics or mesmerizing production work, but the artist knows how to captivate right out the jump and never loosen his grip on your attention. Not that you could be easily distracted after the first notes of “EL Ultimo Hombre” come in. You are immediately immersed in Naranjo’s nimble guitar work and otherworldly vocals, whose lush tones still feel like a punch in the chest. Naranjo is a world builder. His approach to production allows each nuance to unravel subtly yet impactfully, and “EL Ultimo Hombre” is a raw yet honed example of the artist’s veteran presence.

When asked about his new single, Naranjo said, “‘El Ultimo Hombre’ is a percussion-heavy, guitar-driven song featuring Latin American and African drums layered with evocative and mystical atmospheres.”
