MEGGO, the solo project of the FLEECE member, only appears when there is something to say. Since debuting the project in 2021, the artist has dotted her output with a string of sprawling singles that range from folksy ruminations to electronic experimentation. 2025, though, saw MEGGO dive into her solo work like never before with the release of eavesdropper ;; death stories EP, a six-song project that emphasized the poetic intimacy of the artist and marked the start of what is promising to be a trilogy of releases. Part two of the trilogy, eavesdropper ;; the crash, is set to be released on July 17.

As we wait for this anticipated new chapter of MEGGO’s ambitious trilogy, the artist unleashes “jaws of life,” the latest preview from eavesdropper ;; the crash. With the delicate touch required when breaking bad news and the bold spirit to express this much vulnerability in a stripped-down setting, MEGGO delivers a hypnotic performance that is ethereal and intrinsic. The pitter-patter of the acoustic guitar and the nimble electronic drum patterns leave just enough room for the artist’s acrobatic vocals to flip from one train of thought to the next, leaving the listener entranced by these otherworldly textures. The lyrics, though, do not deal with the absurd in the same fashion. MEGGO’s new single finds the artist searching for a sense of home, longing for a foundation to build something meaningful on. The artist searches for solace in blissful left-field sonic magic, creating textures more akin to falling backward than anything else in contemporary pop. MEGGO is gearing up for the release of her new EP, and “jaws of life” hints at yet another genre-defying release for the artist.
