PREMIERE: The Octopus Project, “Perhap”

Experimental pop quartet The Octopus Project just released their fifth album Fever Forms in July via Peek-A-Boo Records. Based in Austin, TX, they’ve been involved in the underground dream-pop scene for over ten years, but they’ve also enjoyed success opening for musicians and bands such as Devo, Aesop Rock and Explosions In The Sky. They blend together acoustic and electronic elements with a seamless, sensual quality, with songs that, while dense, explore the intricacies of emotion when juxtaposed with the digital world. They’re at points cinematic, at others obscure, but overall they deliver really engaging work that blends together film and pop into a delightful mélange of sonic landscapes.
