PT: Iron & Wine Take On The Big Apple

After four full-length albums and a number of EPs released on venerable indie label Sub Pop, Sam Beam, otherwise known by his stage moniker Iron & Wine, made the jump over to the majors for his new album. On January 25, Beam will release his major label debut Kiss Each Other Clean. Last week, he invaded NYC for a full-on promotional blitz in support of the record. On Wednesday, the folk-rocker’s first stop was WNYC’s Soundcheck for an in-studio performance, which was followed later that night by a special NPR Music’s First Listen concert at the Greene Space, where the former film studies professor played his new album in its entirety.

A day later, Beam & Co. not only played an intimate industry heavy, hour-long, showcase set at the Mercury Lounge, but also found the time to squeeze in a stop at 30 Rock for an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, where they turned in this performance of Half Moon…

Iron & Wine will return to NYC later this month to play Radio City Music Hall, on January 29 before heading across the pond for a lengthy European tour.
