The latest installment of the Grateful Dead’s Road Trips series has been announced and features all of the band’s April 1st, 1988 show as well as much of the previous night’s performance, both from the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. 1988 has been largely ignored in previous archival releases and the choice of this April Fools’ run was a good one thanks to a ridiculous Scarlet > Fire, the second (and final) GD-only take on Dylan’s Ballad of a Thin Man and fierce versions of China > Rider, Estimated > Eyes and The Other One.
