The Disco Biscuits bring 2011 to a close this week with a five-show New Year’s Run that includes three performances at the Best Buy Theater in NYC (tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday) as well as a pair of concerts at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre (December 30 and 31). While the band is coming off a high-profile slot on the Identity Festival, the traveling electronic music tour finished at the beginning of September so it’s been nearly four months since the group has played a gig. tDB fans are chomping at the bit to get their band back and hopefully the members of the jamtronica quartet are excited to share the stage again after a long layoff.

2011 has been the Biscuits’ least active year since drummer Allen Aucoin joined the band, but all four members have kept busy. Guitarist Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig has been working on his dubstep DJing skills, Aucoin hit the road with his Dr. Fameus project and reunited with Skydog Gypsy while bassist Marc Brownstein and keyboardist Aron Magner have taken Conspirator across the country and back.
Following this week’s shows, the Disco Biscuits only have their annual Mayan Holidaze and Camp Bisco appearances on their schedule. Conspirator will spend most of February on their “Blizzard of Beats Tour,” which finds Dr. Fameus on the bill for three Colorado gigs. Yet for this week all eyes are on the Disco Biscuits. You can purchase tickets for tDB’s December 30 and New Year’s Eve performances through Ticketmaster. Tickets for all three Best Buy shows are sold out
