This past weekend approximately 55,000 music fans descended upon England’s Isle of Wight for the famed Isle of Wight Festival. Rain storms made getting to and around the island a bitch, but that didn’t stop dozens of veteran bands and a handful of newer ones from taking the festival’s three stages. Many performances from Isle of Wight ’12 were broadcast in Britain on digital FM radio, which means killer bootlegs for us. Here’s three of note: We’ve come across this compilation featuring tracks from Madness, Elbow, Primal Scream, Noah and the Whale, Lana Del Rey, Big Country, James Walsh, Feeder, Joan Armatrading, Band of Skulls and The Vaccines that’s well worth the download. You can also download the five songs from Bruce Springsteen’s headlining set, including his sensational cover of Twist and Shout, that were broadcast. Finally, a large portion of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ set is making the rounds.
Here’s six other bootlegs worth downloading…
- PJ Harvey – The “Secret Show” [Captain’s Dead]
- Doc Watson – 04/01/1984 SBD [Midnight Cafe]
- Eric Clapton – The Best Unreleased Sessions Album [Blog Stoned]
- Florence + the Machine – BBC1’s Hackney Weekend [Guitar 101]
- The Olivia Tremor Control – 06/16/2012 DAUD [NYCTaper]
