Bloc Party Plots New U.S. Dates

U.K. indie-darlings Bloc Party, who are currently hitting the European festival scene, including an appearance at last weekend’s Live Earth concert in London, and will soon move on to Australia and Japan, have announced dates for another swing through the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
The band’s new North American trek kicks off September 7 at The Hideout in Chicago and runs through the end of the month. Stops include the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee (September 11), The Pageant in St. Louis (September 14), the Austin City Limits Music Festival (September 16), the new House of Blues in Dallas (September 22), City Hall in Nashville (September 25), and the Capital Music Hall in Ottawa, O.N. (September 30).
Block Party will also be making their first appearance at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York on October 3, before taking some time off and then playing a handful of shows in the U.K. to close out the year.
"Hunting for Witches," the next single from the band’s latest album A Weekend in the City, is due for release July 9.
