70 years ago today (12/6/49), American blues artist, Leadbelly died of ALS at age 61. As a master of the 12 string guitar, Huddie William Ledbetter introduced many folk standards including: “Goodnight, Irene”, “Midnight Special”, “Cotton Fields”, and “Boll Weevil”.
