XNY
XNY Singer/songwriter Pam Autuori and drummer neighbor Jacob Schreiber began their relationship with dueling sessions against the wall of their adjoined apartments until finally deciding to work together, forming Little Liars in 2010. Recognizing quickly that New York had the better scene, they changed their identity to XNY and relocated to the city. Their debut album, Through the Walls dropped in early June an the band provided me with a very entertaining history this past week.
Catalpa NYC
Catalpa NYC is taking Randall’s Island captive this July with performances from artists ranging from The Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, and Girl Talk, to Matisyahu and Umphrey’s Mcgee. The tri-state area is notorious for being a Bermuda triangle of sorts when it comes to music festivals as festivals in New York tend to disappear (All Points West anyone?). With this in mind, Glide caught up with the festivals promoter, Dave Foran, to discuss how the festival came to be, what he aims to accomplish, and how he hopes it will look in 2013.

Bonnaroo 2012 Preview – Tickets Still Available!
A Van Halen tribute band? In a coveted Saturday late-night spot at Bonnaroo 2012? With Skrillex playing late night on the Which Stage, perhaps the organizers (or his management) didn’t want to put another electronic act opposite him. If so, then Bonnaroo succeeded at giving the rest of the crowd a group of shows as far removed from the style of Skrillex as possible. However, it is likely that those people will still be able to see the lights of Skrillex’s mammoth production from anywhere on the grounds – even clear across Centeroo, at That Tent, where the Van Halen tribute will, presumably, actually be happening.
Stars In Stereo
Stars in Stereo was founded by megabuzz Hoppus pet project City (Comma) State’s former members Justin Siegel, Jordan McGraw, Keith Varon and Drew Langan. Phantom Family Halo: Darkest Before The Dawn
Somewhere just beneath the hazy, slasher-film, psych-rock smog of Phantom Family Halo is an unassuming songwriter and a pensive band that spends as much time working with Bonnie “Prince” Billy as they do hunched over in droning dissonance.

Indians
Welcome to the dream store. Well technically, it was a practice space in Los Angeles. However, after some thought, the practice space could very well be where certain dreams got started. Los Angeles-based band, Indians, is on their way to making all their dreams come true. All it took was some unyielding support from loyal fans, a music video premiere and lastly, but most importantly, a little bit of talent.
John McCauley of Deer Tick
Although Divine Providence didn’t run list and list with Fleet Foxes or PJ Harvey for album of the year, its still one of the year’s most entertaining listens with its hard drinking rockabilly rhythms that permeates like spilled beer and cigarette butts Just following a tour in support of Divine Providence, the always candid and witty McCauley wrote us back some thoughts…
Buzzy Martin – Author of Don’t Shoot! I’m the Guitar Man
There aren't many musicians using their talents quite like Buzzy Martin. After years of working in juvenile halls, teaching music and spreading his message of "Education not Incarceration," word spread that the classes were changing kids' lives and Buzzy was asked to teach a twelve-week music program at San Quentin State Prison. Three years and five months later, Buzzy finished his final class at the "Q.” As the author of Don't Shoot I'm The Guitar Man, Marting gives us an depth, truthful and inside scoop of what it was like teaching music inside one of America's top security prisons.
