22 years later, the Beatles are always discovering a new way to return to the charts. The band will be releasing their anthology series on DVD for the first time on March 31st. The Anthology, will include all original 8 eight episodes of the series that first aired on ABC, plus bonus footage of Pual McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr jamming together in the studio for the first time since 1970.

Like a Time/Life record collection, there appears to be no shortage of singer/songwriters making noise. Peter Yorn, who hit it big last year with his break through record, “Musicforthemorningafter” that featured the hit single “Strange Condition” will be performing a large number of US dates beginning in late April. John Lennon is probably sweating in his grave, as Yoko Ono has recorded a dance version of his final song, “Walking On Thin Ice.” Ono has teamed with the Pet Shop Boys in the production of the song. The tune was one that the couple had been working on before Lennon was tragically shot in December of 1980. Reginald Stark leaned back in his padded leather armchair with a contented sigh. These were his favorite moments. He had just finished writing his latest column, and he knew it would be another great success. Reginald was a very respected music critic, with a circulation he no longer bothered to calculate. All he knew was that millions of people were affected by his brutally incisive reviews of up and coming musicians, and he recognized himself as the gateway to the elite. Many careers were stopped short and dismantled by no more than one page of Reginald’s type; very few made the cut. The audience could not see the delicate intricacies that define true musical worth, so Reginald decided to show them.

I usually hike Little Haystack once a year in early January with a buddy of mine. This year it took us 5 hours up and two down. It was a little harder than last year, and that much more exhilarating. Yoko Ono is probably already meeting with her lawyers, as police recovered reel-to-reel tapes originally recorded by the Beatles today in Sydney, Australia. They are believed to have been stolen from their Abbey Road studios during 1969 in London and contain recordings of “Abbey Road” and “The White Album.” The raid stemmed from an earlier recovery of about 500 tapes believed to be original Beatles recordings in Holland last month.
