100 years ago today the great late blues guitarist Albert King was born (4/25/23). While Albert B.B. King, and Freddie King, all unrelated, were known as the “Kings of the Blues”- Albert had a deep sound that was purely “nasty.” King was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 and in 2011, he was ranked number 13 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. King died in 1992 from a heart attack but his virtuosity lives on. Check out Albert rip it up live in Sweeden in 1980…
