25 Years Ago Today – Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Released ‘Walking Into Clarksdale’ Album

25 years ago today (4/21/98), Jimmy Page and Robert Plant released Walking into Clarksdale, the first batch of new music from the two Led Zeppelin members in almost twenty years. The duo did recently release a live album titled No Quarter and toured behind it, which featured mainly Zeppelin material rearranged in a more stripped-down tone and mission. Walking Into Clarksdale plugged in the volume again and was almost a natural follow-up to Coverdale and Page’s 1993 album self-titled album.
The album introduced “Please Read The Letter,” a song Plant & Alison Krauss remake for the album Raising Sand. Watch Page & Plant Live in 1998 in Vegas in support of Walking Into Clarksdale.
