20 Years Ago Today – The Grand Ole Opry American Road Show Tour Kicks Off

20 years ago today (4/23/04), The Grand Ole Opry American Road Show, the first Opry-affiliated tour in more than a decade, kicked off at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville. The tour, which took its iconic brand into a live format, was led by Opry members Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, the Del McCoury Band, and frequent Opry guest Rebecca Lynn Howard. Gill is now a member of The Eagles, while Loveless and McCourty are still going strong. While no footage is available from that tour, check out Del McCourty Band, live recently with Marty Stuart.
